Dr. Annmarie Hill is the owner and Chief of Staff Veterinarian for the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beach since February of 2007. Dr. Hill graduated from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign in 2001 with honors and made her way to Southern California after being selected to participate in a small animal and exotic pet medicine and surgery internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital under the leadership of board certified specialists in dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, surgery and internal medicine to name a few. She has served as medical director for the Animal Ambulance and staff veterinarian to the Wetlands and Wildlife Center (a non-profit organization dedicated to the critical care of our local wetland animals). Dr Hill has 3 cats (1 hairless) named Grandma Wrinkles, Mortimer and Mootsie all of which were left at her hospital due to their owner’s inability to care for them.

Dr. Elaine Lukic. You will see Dr. Lukic working part time at ACCHB. Dr. Lukic is passionate about making a difference in the well being of all animals. This is why she is also on staff with Orange County Animal Services. Her compassion shows in her medicine. Dr. Lukic is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lukic has 3 cats sharing her home: Simba, Magellan and Alex. She also has a crazy golden retriever named Stella that she rescued from Orange County Animal Services with a fractured leg that she nursed back to health with DAILY bandage changes for weeks! Now that’s love. She is also a proud new mom to her first child with her husband Erik, Emma and just had her second baby girl Sarah!

Mac (aka Melissa) is our Assistant Manager with over 8 years of experience in veterinary hospitals in both California and Colorado. Mac loves working in an environment where compassion for animals is demonstrated on a daily basis. This is what drew her to ACCHB.
Mac has one furry child at home named Justice who is a Catahoula mix. Mac has an extreme attention to detail and is your go to person for any question or concerns and she’ll make sure you and your loved ones are well taken care of. A love for animals is the obvious common link between all of the ACCHB family.

Jessica represents the type of people we love to mentor here at ACCHB. Jessica is a volunteer who has a goal of becoming a veterinarian in the future. Dr. Hill is very excited to mentor people who give of themselves as Jessica has. This is what becoming a veterinarian is all about. To make her goal a reality, Jessica attends Orange Coast College and wants to transfer to U.C. Davis to further her education. Jessica’s major is Animal Science.
When Jessica’s busy schedule allows, she enjoys athletics and spending time with her three cats, Boots, Rusty and Precious. Jessica is the youngest child of four, with three older brothers.
Jessica, we would like to thank you for your unselfish dedication. This dedication and commitment is what all veterinary schools look for when they select the very few candidates who get accepted throughout the country each year. UPDATE 2012: Jessica has been accepted to UC Davis and is well on her way to becoming a fabulous veterinarian! We wish her well!! She will be sorely missed, but we look forward to her return!

Kathryn: CONGRATULATIONS TO KATHRYN!!! On 5-31-11, Kathryn left the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beach and is now on the way to U.C. Davis to continue on her journey to become a veterinarian…Kathryn first came to us wanting to make a contribution to animals as a volunteer. Kathryn is now working on staff as a veterinary technician’s assistant and is also attending Orange Coast College. Her goal is to be a future veterinarian. She is just beginning her journey. After accumulating some additional credits from Orange Coast College, Kathryn will finish her undergraduate degree at UC Davis, with the goal of continuing on to UC Davis’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
We all would like to thank Kathryn for her dedication demonstrated by her unselfish giving of her time to make a difference in the lives of animals. Dr. Hill is very excited about being Kathryn’s mentor and seeing that she receives the best real world experience for this very exciting and rewarding field of medicine.
I should also mention that Kathryn may be young but she already has three kids; the furry type of course. I’m talking about two pembroke welsh corgis named Sophie and Truman, along with a mixed breed cat named Emma.
